What is a Share Account?

Credit unions offer their members savings accounts, which are referred to as share accounts. Deposits in these accounts are regarded as "shares" since the holders of the accounts are owners or members of the credit union.

A Share Savings Account is the foundation of your membership.

You can join Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union with a $5 minimum deposit to your Share Savings Account. This is not a fee; The $5.00 represents your share in BHFCU; you are a shareholder. All members have equal access to our products and services and, as a member, your immediate family members (i.e., mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, and children) are eligible to take advantage of these benefits too.

Not only is this the best place for your hard-earned money, but by making your initial $5.00 deposit into this account, you'll have access to all the benefits of Bayer Heritage FCU membership. As a member, you're entitled to run for a position on our volunteer Board of Directors and vote for your credit union's leadership once a year. You'll remain a member of BHFCU as long as you maintain a $5.00 balance in your Share Savings Account and keep your account active with a yearly transaction.

Depositing funds into your BHFCU Share Account with Direct Deposit or Payroll Deduction will make saving your money even easier. Plus, your account is federally insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). You have 24/7 access to your account through: our FREE online banking, CU@Home; our FREE touch-tone teller, Direct Connect; and your ATM/Debit Card.
